The Kota Damansara Community Forest Park is located within the vicinity of Kota Damansara and is the last remaining area of what was previously 4000 acres of forest reserve.Established in 1898, it is the oldest forest reserve in Peninsular Malaysia. Today, the future of the remaining 857 acres of forest is uncertain.

Kota Damansara Community Forest is the oldest gazetted forest in the whole of Malaysia. How was it degazetted and developed until only 600 acres is left has left us bewildered. This last patch of urban forest is over a 100 years old and it is only " A step from the city". You can be deep in the jungle and be at McDonalds, Tesco, 1 Utama or Ikea in less than 15 minutes.

From the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) take the Ikea/Curve exit but instead of turning to left into the shopping area, keep right and take the Surian Tunnel. As you leave the tunnel, you will pass the Pelangi Damansara condominiums on your left and then a Shell station. Keep going past the Sunway Damansara condominiums on the left and the shoplots on your right until you reach the big cross junction and traffic light. On your left at this junction will be the Sri Selangor Golf Club.
At this junction turn right. On your left will be a small forested area. Keep driving straight under the flyover, past the Selangor Polo Club on your right and the new bright yellow mosque on your left. Once you pass the Polo Club, keep an eye out for a right turning with a sign to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Section 10 Kota Damansara (SMK Section 10 KD - a secondary school). Turn right into this relatively quiet road (it is Jalan Beringin but it might not be signposted). It will curve to the left and you will see condominiums on the left before the school. The KotaDamansara Community Forest Park is on your right (you will see the lake clearly).
The entrance and exit points to the trail are clearly marked (one nearer the condominiums and the other nearer the school). The road is a dead end but there is a roundabout at the end that will allow you to turn around and make a u-turn to leave the area. Park anywhere along the road.
